Not the best for a high instep
Bought these predominately for their grip over wet rocks and for this they are fantastic. An issue of note for people like myself with a high instep is that the tongue of the boot to the throat attaching to the vamp is not a continuous piece of leather but is instead a separate synthetic material stitched at the throat. Due to the inner padding of the boot this creates a slight but noticeable inner ridging at the throat the boot which in my case presses on the instep of the foot or to be more accurate at the dorsum of the foot Whilst I had read online people suggesting they may be a sizing issue with the boots I would suggest it is rather an issue for people with higher insteps feeling the squeeze. If you don’t have a high instep I can’t imagine you will find an issue with these boots. NB: it is not noticeable from the photographs that the tongue is not continuous to the vamp of the boot. Myself I decided to keep them and just break them in. Whilst I really like everything else about the boots I was disappointed by this design issue.
